I love greeting cards. Not the sappy and sentimental Hallmark-style cards, I mean I love the cards that look like art. I have collected a few over the years, with the intention of framing them (even succeeding with some of them).
I love browsing for them at Powell’s Books in Portland or Third Street Books in McMinnville. I was at Third Street Books last week and found two lovely potential art cards.
The owl one may become art for Claire’s room, but the rocket ship one was perfect for Elizabeth.
We took Elizabeth to the Evergreen Air & Space Museum a few weeks ago and she has been asking about the moon and mars EVERY day since then. She is obsessed. It has passed her dinosaur obsession (don’t be fooled by all the pink this girl wears, she is very well rounded).
I usually tell Elizabeth that I love her to infinity and beyond, but this is a cute alternate to that. She loves it, so we added it to her gallery wall in her bedroom.
At about $5 for each card, they are reasonably priced for art. Since the Ikea frame we used was only $2.99, it is a pretty great total for the project.
It is definitely worth it for my happy girl.
